Brief

Design LXVI, a new Vans line that kept the brand’s skate DNA but built it with modern technical construction, and shape how the line launched.

Process

Each style started from a familiar Vans silhouette and stripped it back. The Numeral and Stat used internal, no-sew eyestays and side stripes on an existing cupsole; the Meter turned a boat shoe into a layered no-sew cage over a stretch-mesh bootie; and Style 16 explored welded eyelet pieces and bold color blocking for a later season. Tech packs detailed every layer, from section views of the bonded panels to the webbing pulls and raised logo pieces.
